Sporidex 250mg oral suspension is Used to treat/prevent a variety of bacterial infections including sinusitis, bronchitis, tonsillitis, and skin infections. Works by stopping the growth and spread of susceptible bacteria.
Dosage:
250-500mg twice daily; dose and duration depends on type/severity of infection. Taken by mouth with or without food. Shake bottle well before measuring each dose.
Precautions:
Should not be taken if allergic or sensitive to cephalosporin or penicillin antibiotics. Use with caution in the elderly and those with kidney disease or gastrointestinal disease.
Side Effects:
Diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, abdominal discomfort, headache. Less commonly rash, dizziness, yeast infections, fever or liver problems may occur.
Be sure to take the full prescribed course even if feeling better, to prevent antibiotic resistance or relapse/reinfection. Consult a doctor regarding any other medications being taken.
