Description
Silver sulfadiazine is indicated particularly for the treatment and prophylaxis of burn infections in second and third degree burned patients. Silver sulfadiazine has also been used in other skin conditions, such as leg ulcers, where infection may prevent healing and for the prophylaxis of infection in skin grafting.
SIDE EFFECTS
Pain, burning, itching and bluish discoloration of mucous membrane may occur. Rare but serious side effects include fever, chills, sore throat, unusual weakness, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, dark urine, mental mood, kidney and liver problems etc.
