USE
It is used to treat sudden short-lived (acute) attacks of diarrhea in adults and children aged 9 years and over and long-lasting (chronic) diarrhea in adults.
SIDE EFECT
Skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat. Heart rhythm changes—fast or irregular heartbeat, dizziness, feeling faint or lightheaded, chest pain, trouble breathing. Redness, blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth. Severe stomach pain.
PRECAUTION
This medicine may cause heart rhythm problems (eg, torsades de pointes, ventricular arrhythmias). Check with your doctor right away if you or your child have chest pain or discomfort, fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat, fainting, or trouble breathing. Loperamide may increase your risk for stomach or bowel problems.
