Yoyo bitters caused significant lipid peroxidation. Lipid peroxidation is oxidative damage that affects cellular membranes, lipoproteins, and other molecules that contain lipids in conditions with oxidative stress.
There is also evidence that yoyo bitters reduce body weight and blood glucose. It is desirable in diabetic patients. However, there is a need for caution in people with low blood sugar levels. Although the hypoglycemic effect is low, there is risk in those who are already hypoglycemic.
