Description
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). If you have high blood pressure, taking amlodipine can help to prevent future heart disease, heart attacks and strokes. It is also used to prevent chest pain caused by heart disease (angina).
SIDE EFFECTS
- Headaches. Make sure you rest and drink plenty of fluids.
- Feeling dizzy. If amlodipine makes you feel dizzy, stop what you're doing and sit or lie down until you feel better.
- Flushing. Try cutting down on coffee, tea and alcohol.
- A pounding heartbeat
- Swollen ankles.
