Ciprofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which means that it's used to treat a number of bacterial infections, such as: uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) where other antibiotics are not suitable and complicated UTIs. chest infections (including pneumonia) skin and bone infections.
SIDE EFFECTS
It is most common with then tendon on the back of your ankle, called the Achilles tendon, but can also happen with other tendons. Stop using ciprofloxacin and get medical help right away if you develop any tendon pain or swelling.
PRECAUTION
Be sure your doctor knows whether you’re older than age 60 years.
These factors can increase your risk of tendon problems with
ciprofloxacin.
