Description
USE
Ceftriaxone
injection is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria such as
gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease), pelvic inflammatory disease
(infection of the female reproductive organs that may cause
infertility), meningitis (infection of the membranes that surround the
brain and spinal cord).
SIDE EFFECT
- severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody (even if it occurs months after your last dose);
- new signs of infection (fever, chills, sweating);
- nausea, vomiting, pain in your upper stomach that spreads to your back;
- pale or yellowed skin, dark colored urine;
PRECAUTION
Call your doctor
right away if you have itching; hives; hoarseness; shortness of breath;
trouble breathing; trouble swallowing; or any swelling of your hands,
face, or mouth after you receive this medicine. Ceftriaxone may cause
diarrhea, and in some cases it can be severe
