USE
It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Ciprofloxacin belongs to a class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for virus infections (such as common cold flu). Unnecessary use or overuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness
SIDE EFFECT
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Diarrhea.
- Changes in liver function tests.
- Skin rash.
- Yeast infection (extended-release tablets)
- Swollen nose and throat (extended-release tablets)
- Headache (extended-release tablets)
- Feeling an urgent need to urinate (extended-release tablets)
It should not be used in children and adolescents. The medicine is known to cause tendon rupture, nerve damage/pain (peripheral neuropathy). Be cautious and tell the doctor if you already have any of this condition before initiating the treatment.
