Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive medication that contains the active ingredient levonorgestrel. It is used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure, such as a broken condom. Levonorgestrel works by preventing or delaying ovulation and altering the cervical mucus to reduce the chances of fertilization.
Precautions:
Take Postinor 2 as soon as possible after unprotected sex, ideally within 72 hours but it is most effective when taken within the first 24 hours. It is not intended for regular contraception and should be used only in emergencies. Do not use it if you are already pregnant.
