Ciloxan (Ciprofloxacin ophthalmic) is an antibiotic eye drop used to treat bacterial infections of the eye, such as conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers. It contains ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone that works by inhibiting bacterial DNA replication.
To use Ciloxan, apply 1-2 drops to the affected eye(s) every 4-6 hours, or as directed by your healthcare provider. Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface to prevent contamination. Follow the full prescribed course to ensure the infection is fully treated.
Common side effects include mild eye irritation, redness, or a temporary stinging sensation. You might also experience a dry or gritty feeling in the eye. If side effects persist or are severe, contact your healthcare provider.
