Description
They're used to treat eye inflammation by reducing swelling, redness and irritation. These can be symptoms of eye injuries, surgery, or damage caused by severe allergies or chemicals. It's also safe to use dexamethasone eye drops in the ear but only when you've been advised to do so by a doctor.
Side effects
- Irritation, burning, stinging or itching in your eye. If you get these symptoms after using your eye drops, they should go after a few minutes as your eye gets used to the medicine.
- Blurred or cloudy vision.
- Unpleasant taste in the mouth.
PRECAUTION
Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires clear vision until you can do it safely. If you develop a new eye infection or injury, or require eye surgery, ask your doctor if you should continue to use your current bottle of dexamethasone eye drops or start a new bottle.
