Description
Omeprazole 20mg, often sold under the brand name Meprasil, is used to treat conditions caused by excessive stomach acid, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
Typically, the dosage is one 20mg tablet taken once daily, preferably before a meal. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. The specific duration and frequency of treatment will depend on your healthcare provider’s recommendations based on your condition.
Common side effects include headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain.
